Cookery

As well as learning basic cooking rules (the importance of hygiene and safety, etc.), children become familiar with culinary terminology, techniques and how to follow a recipe, which links in well with their curriculum subjects.  They are encouraged to feel, smell and taste many different and unfamiliar foods, to discuss what constitutes healthy eating and to make some interesting snacks.

The children have been making tasty treats such as Smoothies, Blackberry Sundaes, Chocolate Truffles, Pizza Faces and Bread rolls.
