Penguin Class News: Term 1
Welcome to Penguin Class. I hope we are at the beginning of a successful year and that you and your child are happy with the start of their school life.
This term our topic is called "Who am I?" We will be learning about ourselves and our families and cultures.
What are we learning?
In Literacy we are going to be working on learning the names and sounds of the letters of the alphabet and on how to form them correctly. We will also be having a go at writing labels, lists and captions.
Your child will soon be bringing a book home that they have chosen from the class library. Please share this book with your child and discuss what is happening, ask them to tell you what is happening in the pictures.
In Maths we will be working on sorting, number recognition, counting and ordering numbers, naming 2D shapes and creating repeating patterns, as well as comparing measures such as length and height.
How can you help?
Please ensure that your child's school uniform, coat, shoes, PE Kit, book bag, art apron and lunch box are all named. We also ask that your child brings their book bag to school every day please.

25th-29th October: Half term
