Our Work

Term 6:

This term some of our class visited Shorne Woods Country Park while others went to Riverside Country Park.

During our assembly we told our audience all about the trees, birds, flowers and mammals that we saw on our visit. One mammal that we didn't manage to see was the Gruffalo!

We have been learning The Gruffalo story by Julia Donaldson as part of our Enchanted Forest theme for this term. We presented the Gruffalo story and song for our assembly.

Term 5:

The Ugly Bug Ball

This term we are focusing on non fiction books as well as minibeasts.

We read ‘The Very Ugly Bug' by Liz Pichon and have drawn our own Ugly Bugs. All of our drawings have a heading and have been labelled.

Throughout the term we will be building on our knowledge of non-fiction books to create our own book on minibeasts.

Owl Class have been making skull masks which are used during the parties held in Mexico when Los Dias de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead is celebrated.

This is a day when all those who have died are remembered and their lives are celebrated.

We have also made Ojo de Dias or God's Eye. These are traditionally made in Mexico when a child is born and a different colour is added each year until they reach their 7th birthday.
